Heirloom Caramel Apple Preserves are made with an old variety of apple that was originally cultivated on the Moore Estate in the Village of Newtown which is now Elmhurst, Queens. Thomas Jefferson praised the Newtown Pippin for it’s complex tart flavor. Swirl it into yogurt or spoon over oatmeal. Spread it on an open faced grilled peanut butter and banana sandwich for a fire side treat.
